New music video – ‘Roll and Go’

The second single from our forthcoming album is here! We hope you love ‘Roll and Go’ and its accompanying video.

The song is a version of the shanty ‘Randy-Dandy-Oh’. It’s a song we loved because – with its refrain of “Whey! Hey! Roll and go!” – it reflects an excitement and wide-eyed optimism about sailing the world. Our version certainly isn’t for folk-purists, but we like to think we’ve captured that same joyful spirit, despite our much rockier setting and total disregard for the traditional verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure.

We filmed the music video near Stoke-on-Trent on one of the hottest days of the year. It wasn’t ideal weather to dress in cheap polyester suits and wigs before being covered in gunge. But you can probably tell we still had a lot of fun. The video includes a special cameo from one of our favourite ceilidh-callers John Brown, who really was the cherry on top of the cream-cake.

‘Roll and Go’ is now available to stream everywhere:

Roll & Go is the second single we’ve released from forthcoming album Kick the Curb. The first single was ‘John’s Gone to Hilo’ and you canĀ watch the video here. The album is released on 30th September.
